What is Ameno Torifune?

We at Ameno Torifune, or “Ametori” for short, want to contribute to the development of culture by creating art for society that fuses digital and analogue. We do this through supporting creators who are pioneers in cutting-edge areas of technology.

  • We plan and produce digital art, project mapping, 3D animation and other digital content, as well as illustrations. We carry out development and experimental planning and development for AR, VR, MR, XR, and so on.
  • NFT exhibits, fair, and other creator support, construction of systems to improve the position of creators, creation of venues for exchange, and creation of opportunities for study or research.
  • Other businesses needed to achieve our goals as a company.

Concept

Ameno Torifune is like a boat that travels freely around the world like a bird, using a range of methods of expression that include both digital and analogue, discovering and reassessing the wonders of that country or region, and where bold creators come together.

With cutting-edge technologies, we head to places all over the world to ensure we can unearth the local charm and culture, using our imagination to turn it into art and maintain it. To express this vision, we borrowed our name from Japanese mythology, the “boat that sails from heaven swiftly as a bird.”

Works

Projection Mapping

TransStudioMall in Bali

In summer 2019, we set up projection mapping on a floor of a shopping mall in Bali in conjunction with specialists in Balinese culture. We divided the spacious floor into five areas, and projected the throbbing cultures and landscapes that give Bali life. The huge images, moving in sync with people’s movements, appealed to all five senses - not just vision, but touch, smell, taste, and sound as well .

Here's some examples of the work. Click or tap them to see them.

In addition to this, we have taken part in projection mapping, animation, AR, VR programs and more at exhibit venues or facilities in Japan and around the world.

About Ameno Torifune

For Creators

For Creators

One of the goals of Ameno Torifune is to share the techniques and sales paths of individual creators, and create new work.

At Ameno Torifune, our business managers and sales representatives hold regular meetings (which also include discussions about random topics) with willing participants such as creators and freelancers working around Japan. From rambling conversations about what everyone thinks and what they do day-to-day, to research reports, trending issues, new exhibits, requests for work and so on, these are fascinating conversations for creators.

We bring together creators with a range of individualities and techniques on an equal basis with the hope that out of their meeting, something will emerge. In areas where individual abilities are not enough, pooling talent among members can, we believe, create works that go beyond each person’s abilities.

  1. Those who want to open up their skills more
  2. Those who have something they want to do now
  3. Those who feel responsible as professionals for completing their work

Why not join us to help turn your creative activities into fun work?
Please feel free to contact us if you are interested.

For Creator Hopefuls

We want to be a beneficial place for you, the future creator.

  1. Mutual absorption of new knowledge and learning
  2. Study sessions or information publishing by active creators
  3. Creating contacts through work

Please feel free to contact us if you are interested in any of these.

For Adviser

Ameno-torifune

To those with specialist knowledge or want to provide support

We are accepting applications from specialists who can provide advice on culture and technology, and from supporting members who wish to provide assistance.

  1. Practice and deepening of research themes through projects
  2. A place to showcase the latest knowledge to creators who need it
  3. The special experience of participating in the latest in art projects

When we did our project in Bali, we were assisted by a number of experts in Indonesian culture and history.

We also benefited greatly from talking to Bali fans we encountered by coincidence when we visited to gather facts.

There are many people, like these Bali fans, who simply like something, or are involved because it’s their hobby, even if they aren’t specialists.

Music, tourism, culture, ethnicities, geography, history, culture... we are looking for people who can provide advice on the art we create.

If you are interested in digital art, the latest video technologies, exhibits, or more, or if you want to provide support to artists and creators, we would love it if you could offer your help.

About Us

Establishment

History of establishment

We want to present the beauty and enjoyment, and the wonderful culture, of different countries and regions. We want to reach as many people as possible, regardless of language, age, or sex.

While there are those who lack the eloquence to express themselves, and there are creators who can take on this expressiveness, they are so busy with deadlines every day they lack the opportunities to express themselves as they would want.

We want to draw out the true creativeness of creators, and present the wonders of corporate activities or culture of people living in a region. We want to use combinations of different skills, video, music, lighting, play equipment and decorations to create effective spaces and areas that appeal directly to the senses, expressing their appeal unstintingly. We want to create true value by bringing together creators from different fields and establish such a wish as permanent in the form of a project.

With a mission of “Contributing to the development of a society and culture where bold creators come together to wield their creativity across different fields,” Ameno Torifune was established on November 4, 2020.

Ameno-torifune Logo Mark

Ameno Torifune comes from an ancient Japanese myth. It refers both to the boat that flew through the skies to carry the gods of heaven to earth, and is an alternative name of the god responsible for dialogue with local gods. As both interpretations fit our corporate philosophy, we chose this name for our company.
